Amanda Rose was born in San Antonio and raised on the Corpus Christi Bay. She studied biology at Texas State University where she began her career in education, first as a substitute teacher and later as a teaching assistant while in graduate school.
After leaving San Marcos, Amanda worked as a Special Education paraprofessional and ultimately spent 15 years as a secondary science teacher. Twelve of those years were spent at Corpus Christi ISD in both Miller High School and King High School.
At the end of 2021, Amanda made the gut-wrenching decision to leave teaching for a career in higher education. She currently works as a program coordinator at Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi where she also attends graduate school.
Amanda Rose has been married to her husband, James, for 21 years and is the proud mother of two sons who currently attend Ray High School.
