I'm a former CCISD teacher running for Board of Trustees- District 1. As an educator, I know first-hand the challenges our teachers are facing. In order to serve our students, we must support our teachers. If elected, I promise to support the hard-working educators that serve CCISD. Our children deserve no less. About Amanda

Amanda Rose was born in San Antonio and raised on Corpus Christi Bay. She studied biology at Texas State University where she began her career in education, first as a substitute teacher and later as a teaching assistant while in graduate school. After leaving San Marcos, Amanda worked as a Special Education paraprofessional and ultimately spent 15 years as a secondary science teacher. Twelve of those years were spent at Corpus Christi ISD in both Miller and King High Schools. At the end of 2021, Amanda made the gut-wrenching decision to leave teaching for a career in higher education. She currently works as a program coordinator at Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi where she also attends graduate school. Amanda Rose has been married to her husband, James, for 21 years and is the proud mother of two sons who currently attend Ray High School.
